The Sure Shot Night Vision SNB Filter was specifically designed to reduce the noise (sparkle, scintillating, snow etc) that makes it to your eye through your night vision device, giving you a much smoother image. With its purple tint, the SNB filter makes your image color cooler by reducing the green tone which aids in reducing eye strain, helping preserve your natural night vision and reducing backsplash.
Although the SNB filter was designed for night vision devices, the filter is extremely useful for thermal devices. It works on any thermal device that utilizes a PVS-14 eyepiece, such as the Trijicon and NVision HALO optics. The SNB filter will materially reduce eye strain with thermal devices, particularly head mounted thermal.
